We have been working real hard on preparing the only auctioneer's correspondence school in the nation.
Most auctioneers go to an auction school like I did a long time ago. Most students pay somewhere between $700 and $1,300 for the coarse and believe me, it is well worth it. I couldn't imagine getting into the auction profession without having gone to school first. There are a lot of legalities and tips and tricks involved in this business!
When you start figuring the total cost of the auctioneer's school, the tuition is just one of the expenses. Most students will have airfare or driving and meal expenses from your hometown to the city and state the school is in. In my case (I drove) this cost me $250.00 for meals and transportation round trip. Once you get to the school you have to check in to a hotel for about twelve days total. In my case this was $40 per night, times twelve nights, which equaled $480.00. I also spent about $150.00 on miscellaneous items. My total cost (NOT including tuition) was about $880.00. If you add in the tuition of about $850.00 you will be up to about $1,730.00. If you have to fly in and or rent a car once you get there it would be considerably more. Many auctioneers are paid well over $100.00 per hour so you can see that you could pay for your school expenses in your first auction or two. I did. It is a great full or part-time profession!Once we get everything in place and are ready to go our total price will be about $700.00 for everything. BIG difference! You will be able to listen to our tapes and follow along with our manual that will be included. You will be doing this in the comfort of your own home or office at a fraction of the price.
Having more time than on-site schools, we will be able to instruct you on a lot more of the auction process. Unlike some of the schools we will be including a lot of the forms and contracts that are necessary in the auction industry.
We expect this coarse will be available in October or November 2001. If you think you would be interested in the school, drop us an email with your full name and address and phone number and we will put you on the list of prospective students.
