About Dr. Benton

Dr. Benton is a Texas Jewish boy (Reform) from parts unknown and resides at Casa de Math in a small town in Texas. He is descended on his mother's side from a Jewish great-grandmother and a Choctaw great-grandfather (Oy, Kimosabe!), once danced in a musical with the late Ginger Rogers (someone had to do it), once had a date with Miss America (it would have gone better if I had brought money with me to pay for the food), used to work in a psychiatric hospital (I felt strangely at home), and has transcended physical reality as we know it (that and a quarter will get you a cup of coffee). Dr. Benton's interests include French horn, Native American flutes, Talmud study, Kabbalah, Hebrew, the Internet, Chaos theory, computer aided math instruction, and sleeping late in the morning.
