Exercise removes the harm caused by most habits. -Maimonides
The life of all flesh is its blood -Leviticus 17:14
More and more we are learning how even a little exercise can extend life almost irregardless of previous abuses of the body and one's current age. In other words, it's never too late to start. Furthermore, modern medical science allows us to understand the dictum that the life is the blood in a whole new light. A contemporary restatement might be that you are as young as your arteries ---- a statement that one has increasing appreciation for as one ages. I personally try and exercise a little bit each day. I begin with some aerobic exercise on the treadmill and then do some light weight training to tone the muscles and draw blood to that particular part of the body. If nothing else, most people can begin with some daily walking which is probably the best single exercise there is. Be sure to get good walking shoes and then go at your own pace. As the blood begins to move, you will be ever more appreciative of the relationship between life and blood.
