KETER
Keter is the crown. It corresponds
to Neptune in astrology. Another name for Keter is Ayin, nothingness. It
represents a natural gateway to the Divine. In many cultures the crown of
the head is associated with spirituality. The truth is that we tend to experience
certain things in very specific parts of our body. For example, sexuality
can be felt very strongly in the genitals, romantic love creates a very
pleasureable expansive feeling in our hearts, and very ethereal spiritual
feelings are often concomitant with a tingling sensation at the very top
of our heads. Thus, more than one culture has devised meditative procedures
for stimulating this center in order to evoke spiritual ecstasies. Even
in Judaism we have midrashim (stories) about a line of primordial light
stored away for the righteous that enters us through this center when we
study Torah. When our energy is fully focused on this center, the physical
universe begins to dissolve as we become fully absorbed in this divine light.
Objects disappear as they merge into "no-thing". Often when we
are engaged in creative activities, we will feel a stimulation at the crown
as though it were the gateway through which new thoughts and inspirations
enter us as they come into being out of nothingness. Our eyes may even naturally
roll upward in order to direct more energy to this nexus. This sephirah
is connected with Will because just as every creative inspiration seems
to come into existence out of nothingness, so also does every intention
seem to arise spontaneously from a level beyond duality. By keeping this
crown center active and open as we go through life, we can remain vital
and creative and connected with the Holy light.
