1936. . .
Jim Hardy, Ex-Con, decides to go straight and is met with stiff resistance from his old cronies in the mob whose motto is "Once a crook, always a crook."
But deadlines are all in the day's-or night's-work for Jim Hardy, Ace Reporter. Getting his copy in on time to make the deadline for an edition, crossing the deadline of the underworld to get that copy . . .A G-man journalist, sleuthing for dangerous truth-and tipping off headquarters in a headline.
That's Jim Hardy.
Often an artist will look upon the work of another and remark, "I wish I had done that." That's what comes to mind while working on Dick Moores' Jim Hardy. When I decided to reprint the Jim Hardy strips, it was more from my personal preference of the graphic art style and story line than from a commercial standpoint. Dick Moores and all of the old comic art masters should be published for the now generation and the future ones.
