Jim Hardy

Starting in 1936, this is an early strip by Dick Moores, who later took over the Gasoline Alley strip. Moores was an assistant to Chester Gould, creater of Dick Tracy, and this strip was created to compete with Dick Tracy. It has the same action-packed, violent stories as Tracy.

This book shows Moores striking pictorial style and fast-paced strip continuity as displayed in his daily and Sunday episodes. Jim Hardy made a considerable national impact on millions of comic book readers with its monthly reprint appearances in United Features' Tip Top Comics in 1938.
