Midi Music:
If you have a Midi player for your system, and would like to listen to
some music while you surf, here are some selections for you to enjoy. These
are played directly from the pages they are embedded in, and if you would like
to continue listening to one of them, set your midi player to loop and continue your
journey...the music will play as long as you keep the midi player open. (I use
VuePrint and set it to loop the sound).

Cholesterol Cure:
Swinely habits have side effects. They pork one up, and they can elevate
your blood pressure, cholesterol,
and triglycerides. If your genetic makeup is like mine, it will lead to early heart
problems, including myocardial infarction.
The Hog advises those who care to do something about this problem to follow
the regimen outlined below:
- Limit fats to 30% of total calory intake, mostly unsaturated.
- Balance carbohydrates with protein in a 40/30 ratio by calories.
- Eat to achieve your ideal weight: total daily calories = 8 x ideal pounds.
- Enter the Zone for hormonal balance.
- OAT BRAN-- magic here! Eat Oat Bran in muffins, cereal, or however you can get
it in your diet. Oat Bran supplies fiber and flushes the bad LDL out of your body.
- GARLIC-- studies have shown that a daily clove of garlic can significantly
lower total cholesterol. I like the odorless tablet form, and take the equivalent of 2500mg daily.
- Vitamin E is known to decrease arterial plaque from lipids, and serves to keep
blood vessels freely flowing. Take 400-600 IU daily.
- A daily low dose (81 mg) of Aspirin (ASA) has proven to be beneficial to those
who suffer from atherosclerosis. Get physician approval on all long term medications.
- Mega-dose NIACIN (with physician permission)...
500 mg x 3 times daily with meals. If you use timed release niacin capsules, there will be no flush to
worry with.
- Keep an eye on your blood pressure, and get some aerobic
exercise at least three times a week. Your health will improve, and if you can bring cholesterol down
below 160 mg/dl, your atherosclerotic buildup will begin to melt away.
Since this page is for random thoughts, have you ever considered
why they say a watch has a second hand, when in reality it is a third?
Life is full of little mysteries like that. It is our fortune to seek
out these things and live one day at a time, savoring the moments.
