All we could do was sit there and watch. Sure we sent messages and even a few space probes to monitor their activities. Any feeble endeavor to stop them was brushed aside like dust, and so all we could do was sit and watch as they pillaged our solar system. There were billions of them, they and their machines and their artificial intelligences. They cut up whole planets and turned the materials into starships, extra unneeded starships for population growth. They harvested the ice moons for water and carbon. They even harvested the comets of our Oort cloud. Sure they left us our Moon, the giant gas planets which would take too long for them to process, and even a few asteroids to give us a chance to expand into Space, but they took everything else. To add insult to injury, the sent us complete scientific data on every object they found and then consumed, giving us a "virtual solar system" in place of our stolen real solar system. And then they left, traveling like locusts to another star system to search for more materials to feed their endless population growth and their endless search for science. They were the invaders from planet Earth! They called themselves Humans.
