Preparing for the Interview |

ATTITUDE
Be positive, confident and professional. Know
where you are going. Arrive 10-15
minutes early. If necessary, drive to the location a couple of
days before the
interview so that you know where you are going, where to park, and
how much time
to allow to arrive on time.

APPEARANCE
Dark Suit, white shirt, conservative tie for men;
black or navy suit for ladies.
Keep your jewelry to a minimum.
Look like a winner!

RESUME'
Keep it in a folder, so that it is fresh. No messy
copies from your pocket or purse.
|
|
APPLICATION
NO BLANKS. There's a reason you fill out an
application even though your resume' has most of the required
information on it.
|
|
HOMEWORK
Research the company. Visit the company website or get
information from your local library and be informed.
Be prepared to discuss your goals. What makes you more
qualified that other candidates. Emphasize your strengths.
Focus on what you are; not on what you may lack for that
particular job.

THE INTERVIEW
Turn off cell phones! Maintain eye contact throughout the
interview. Pay attention. If you don't understand
something, ask for clarification. Take notes.

|
QUESTIONS
Prepare a list of questions. Ask questions
about the position and the company.
Do not ask about salary or benefits. At the appropriate time
the interviewer will reveal that information.

ASK FOR THE JOB
If you are interested in the opportunity, let the
interviewer know.

THANK YOU NOTE
Send a handwritten note in the mail. Or, if time is of the
essence, email a thank you.
