Association Montessori Internationale was established in 1929 by Dr. Maria Montessori to maintain, propagate and further her ideas and principles for the full development of the human being.

AMI, with headquarters in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, is the oldest recognized authority on Montessori education worldwide.

WHAT IS REQUIRED FOR AMI RECOGNITION?

To be eligible for recognition, all teachers must have completed the rigorous AMI training course. Each clasroom must be equipped with special materials and well maintained. Annual certification is contingent on periodic observations and consultations by the international organization (AMI).
