Moon Over Buffalo
December 1 - 17 Directed by Janet Sharpley
The play focuses on a married couple, George and Charlotte Hay, second-rate actors stuck in a repertory purgatory in Buffalo, New York. Charlotte's doddering mother, Ethel mends costumes and delivers caustic barbs to her son-in-law. The Hay's daughter, Roz, has forsaken the theatre for a "normal life" and if her parents' backstage squabbling reflects the dysfunctional family du jour, one can hardly blame her. Serendipity visits George and Charlotte as they discover that director Frank Capra is traveling to Buffalo with the express purpose of observing their performance, with an eye to casting them in his latest film. Naturally, disaster ensues. Produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.
